Cash & payment
Do I have to remove my existing coin system?
No. Our card terminal becomes the new central till system, but your working cash installation (per-machine coin mechanisms, payment boxes) can simply stay in place and keep running alongside it. You throw nothing away, and you simply offer your customers an extra way to pay.
Does it work with Bancontact?
Yes. Through our payment terminal your customers pay with Bancontact, contactless cards (Visa, Mastercard, Maestro) and QR code. Your existing coin system keeps working alongside it, so customers can just as easily pay in cash.
Pricing
Why do we use SumUp?
SumUp focuses specifically on small merchants and therefore offers the best solution for payments of small amounts. They charge the lowest commission fees on the market and there are no monthly maintenance costs, unlike other providers.
Do I need a SumUp account?
Yes. We use SumUp as the payment provider for both card and QR payments. You open a SumUp account yourself (free of charge) and SumUp pays out directly to your bank account. We are not an intermediary in the money flow: PCI compliance stays with SumUp and your money stays with you.
Can I upgrade from Starter to Pro later?
Yes, at any time. The cash module of the Pro tier is plug-and-play: you connect the module and one click in the admin page activates it. No hardware replacement, no reinstallation, no data loss. Your rate adjusts from the next billing cycle.
What if I want to cancel my subscription?
We would be very sorry to see you go. We are happy to discuss the reason for leaving, and to hear where we can still improve our service.
The first month after installation is a free trial month. If you stop at the end of it, it costs you nothing: you let us know before the trial month is over, and the hardware comes back to us. Only any installation fee remains due, because that work has already been done.
If you stay after that, the contract runs for eighteen paid months. It then continues for an indefinite period and you cancel with one month’s notice, starting on the first day of the calendar month after your cancellation. You cancel by registered letter or by e-mail with acknowledgement of receipt. From then on, cancelling costs you nothing.
Want to leave during those eighteen months? That is possible too, against a termination fee that goes down every month: €1,200 at the start of your first paid month, and €66.67 less for every full month that has passed. After six months that is €800, after twelve months €400, and from month eighteen zero.
Did you pay a year in advance? Then your cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you paid for, and not earlier. You never get money back, but you don’t lose anything either: until that end date everything keeps running and we keep delivering your service. The termination fee is calculated on that end date, not on the day you cancel.
An example. You paid up to month twenty-four and cancel after sixteen months: your contract then runs until month twenty-four, and because the minimum term is over by then, you pay nothing extra. If you cancel after six months while you paid up to month twelve, your contract runs until month twelve and terminating costs €400 instead of €800, precisely because the counter is set to your actual end date.
So whoever pays yearly chooses a 5% discount and a lower exit cost, in exchange for not being able to leave earlier. Would you rather keep that flexibility? Then choose monthly payment.
In practice at the end: on request you get a full export of your data. The hardware remains our property, so it comes back. You remove it yourself following our instructions and return all parts within thirty calendar days after the end date, in good condition, normal wear and tear excepted. We check everything, and that is where the contract ends. Parts that are not returned, damaged or incomplete are charged at replacement value.
Would you rather not remove it yourself? We do the removal for €499.
Hardware
How long does the installation take?
A typical installation of the card terminal takes 3 to 5 hours and happens without your laundromat having to close. For the Pro tier (with cash handling), allow about an hour more.
Beforehand, you provide an earthed socket outlet close to the till unit, in an inspected electrical installation, on a circuit protected by a circuit breaker and a residual current device: the till unit contains no fuse on the mains side. For a business, the Belgian electrical regulations (AREI) require an inspection every five years. That inspection and keeping the installation in good order are your responsibility.
Does it work with every brand of washing machine?
Yes. We control the machines through an IO link, an industry standard supported by all modern professional washing machines and most older models. In practice we work with the brands common in Belgian laundromats: Miele Professional, Ipso, Electrolux Professional and Primus. Have a different brand? Ask us. If your current machines already have a payment option, we can usually retrofit them: that goes for all professional washers, dryers and ironers.
Do I need internet in my laundromat?
For card payments via SumUp, yes: a simple wifi or 4G connection is enough. For controlling the machines and handling cash, the system also works without internet; the data syncs as soon as the connection is back.
Do you also do laundromat automation (lights, doors, ...)?
Yes. Laundromat automation is part of our till architecture as standard: the same IO layer that controls the washing machines can also control lights, door locks and other peripherals.
Examples of what we already configure for customers:
- Lighting on/off on a fixed schedule, saving energy in quiet hours.
- Door locks automatically open during opening hours and locked outside them, no more handing out keys.
See the details on the laundromat automation page or request a demo.
Service & support
What if the till breaks down?
We send you new parts free of charge, for as long as you are a customer. Because you don’t buy the hardware but subscribe to a service that includes it, a defect is our problem, not yours. When you report an issue, we first take a look remotely. If it is a hardware problem, we send the replacement part free of charge, together with a clear manual. The parts are designed so you can replace them yourself without technical knowledge, and if needed we guide you by phone. No difference between year one and year six.
If we do need to come on site, because you prefer it or because there is no other way, that visit is chargeable at the rates in your contract. The part itself stays free. Your existing cash installation keeps working during any on-site visit, so your laundromat never comes to a complete standstill.
If something breaks after five years, do I get an invoice?
Not for the part. You don’t buy the hardware, you subscribe to a service that includes it — Hardware as a Service. The till unit, the display and the cash components remain our property, so a defect remains our problem, not yours. There is no warranty period that expires after one, two or five years: for as long as you are a customer, we send defective parts free of charge, with a manual to replace them yourself. Normal wear and tear is simply part of that: a coin mechanism that gives up after six years of service, a touch display that starts to fail, a hopper motor that packs in.
You only get an invoice if we come on site: that visit is chargeable at the rates in your contract.
What is not covered, we do charge for, including the part: deliberate damage and vandalism (we recommend insurance for that), damage from improper use or from third-party interventions, and external causes such as power surges, lightning, water damage or fire.
How long does my till receive security updates?
At least five years from delivery. The end date, with month and year, is on your quotation, your agreement and your invoice. The updates are free and are installed remotely: you don’t need to do anything.
That end date is the minimum we commit to, not a date on which everything stops: support does not end automatically. If your contract continues after that date, your till unit simply keeps working. If something breaks, we send a replacement part as always.

Who owns the data?
You do. All revenue and usage data is your property. We store it securely (in the cloud) and you can export it to Excel for your accountant at any time. Stopping our service? Then you get a full export to take with you.
